Special Investigations Unit (SIU)

Insurance fraud costs the U.S. billions of dollars each year, costs that impact our industry, policyholders and all consumers. Our IAT Special Investigations Unit (SIU) helps fight the insurance fraud problem through prevention, detection, investigation, and working with Law Enforcement agencies. 

Our Special Investigations Unit examines referrals, tips and leads, and makes reports of suspected fraud to authorities - as required - for further government investigation and potential prosecution. These anti-fraud efforts are designed to safeguard IAT's corporate assets, preserve the company's reputation, improve deterrence of fraud in the industry, and benefit our customers and the public.
