IAT Insurance Group Announces Strategic Leadership Changes for 2016

New York, (January 14, 2016) – IAT Insurance Group (the “Company”), a privately held global insurance organization, announced today that it has made a number of strategic leadership changes, broadening the level of experience and expertise at the Company.

Julie Burnett has joined the IAT Insurance Group as Senior Vice President of General Agency and will be focused on the Company’s Excess & Surplus Lines and Specialty Lines of business. Ms. Burnett spent most of her career with Safeco Insurance/Liberty Mutual Insurance. She most recently served as Executive Vice President of Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Small Commercial Strategy and Business Insurance Distribution where she had overall responsibility for a $3.4 billion book of business.

Bill Teed will join the Company as Senior Vice President of the Program Business Unit on February 8, 2016. Previously, Mr. Teed worked for the Travelers Companies, Inc. as President, Field Management, leading the field organization’s 11 Regional Presidents and their Regional Directors.

Christopher Dowler has been named the Company’s Chief Information Officer. Mr. Dowler joined the IAT Insurance Group after a career of various high level information technology positions in the financial services industry. Mr. Dowler’s most recent role was that of Senior Vice President and CIO for Assurant Health. He will be responsible for the Company’s IT operations and infrastructure.

Ken Coon has taken on a new role within the IAT Insurance Group as Senior Vice President of Business Development. In his new role, Mr. Coon will be working to identify new products and program opportunities to support internal growth as well as identify possible acquisition opportunities.

Gene Keating, who together with Ken Coon, built the IAT Insurance Group’s Excess & Surplus Lines and Specialty Lines units, will remain with the Company to ensure a seamless transition to new leadership for this business. He will also work closely with Mr. Coon to ensure a cohesive business development strategy across the Company’s entire general agency distribution network.
