IAT Specialty is a member of the IAT Insurance Group and provides insurance for commercial risks involving general liability, property, garage liability, excess/umbrella, in addition to a number of secondary coverages. Most coverages offered are considered part of the Surplus Lines market. Coverages include more difficult risks that the standard lines markets will not offer.
IAT Specialty only conducts business through contracted independent general/wholesale agencies and writes in all 50 states. Insureds and/or retail agencies needing insurance through our Surplus Lines market should contact a general/wholesale agent in their local area.
IAT Specialty issues policies through a variety of AM Best rated A- companies that are part of the IAT Insurance Group. This includes Acceptance Casualty Insurance Company, Acceptance Indemnity Insurance Company, Wilshire Insurance Company and Occidental Fire & Casualty Company.
Commercial General Liability
General Liability coverage is available for a wide range of risks. General classes of business include Mercantile; Manufacturing or Processing; Habitational; and Contracting or Servicing.
Our top classes of business include apartments, condominiums, dwellings, hotels/motels, lessor’s risk, offices, restaurants, grocery stores, shopping centers, warehouses, mini/self storage units, and artisan contractors.
Standard limits available include up to $2,000,000 General Aggregate, $2,000,000 Products Complete Operations Aggregate, $1,000,000 Each Occurrence, $1,000,000 Personal & Advertising Injury, $100,000 Fire Damage, and $5,000 Medical Payments. Higher limits are available on a ‘submit’ basis up to $6,000,000.
Coverage is offered for General Liability and Liquor Liability for establishments handling alcoholic beverages. Emphasis is on avoidance of risks which cater to younger patrons (in their early 20s), as well as risks which have experienced any loss frequency and/or severity.
Coverage is offered under the ISO Occurrence Form. Separate GL and Liquor Liability limits are available.
Umbrella and Excess coverage is available for General Liability and Auto risks. We can offer limits from $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 and we will write over carriers that have an AM Best rating of A- VI or better. All policies are quoted and issued by the company. Coverage is available in all states.
Property coverage can be written for light to medium hazard commercial accounts in Protection Class 1 – 8 based on Commercial occupancy. Basic, Broad and Special Cause of Loss forms are available.
Coverages offered include Building; Building Ordinance or Law; Business Personal Property; Business Interruption and Extra Expense; Electronic Data Processing Equipment, Equipment Breakdown; Glass; Personal Property of Others; Spoilage; Sprinkler Leakage; and Tenants’ Improvement & Betterments. Vacant Building coverage is also available with some restrictions.
Standard limits include $500,000 per location or $1,000,000 per policy TIV. Higher limits are available on a ‘submit’ basis.
Multiline coverage is available on a package basis. General Liability and Commercial Property coverage can be combined with other lines of business such as Liquor, Crime, and Inland Marine.
Offered as part of a package policy, we provide limited crime coverage for those risks located in favorable areas showing sound management with proper crime preventive devices and practices.
Coverages offered include Theft of Money & Securities, Robbery & Safe Burglary (Property Other than Money & Securities), and Robbery and Safe Burglary (Money & Securities).
Inland Marine coverage is offered on small to medium size commercial accounts. Coverage options include Accounts Receivable, Bailees, Electronic Data Processing Equipment, Contractors Equipment, Miscellaneous Tools/Unscheduled Equipment, and Valuable Papers.
Employment Practices Liability
Employment Practices Liability insurance is available in conjunction with supportive General Liability business through both our Contract Binding and Brokerage Departments. Coverage is Claims Made with Defense within the Limits. Extended Reporting Period is available, but there is no coverage for Prior Acts or Known Acts.
