(October 24, 2023) – IAT Insurance Group, a premier provider of specialty property and casualty insurance and surety products, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Zurcher as the new Executive Vice President, Surety, succeeding the retiring Ken Chapman.

Mike Zurcher brings more than 30 years of surety and commercial property and casualty underwriting experience, including Surety leadership roles at both Travelers and Chubb. He joins IAT from Travelers Insurance where he most recently was Field Vice President, Business Insurance, Northeast Region. His leadership roles at Travelers include serving as Business Unit Head of Commercial Surety, responsible for worldwide commercial surety operations from 2015 to 2018, and Vice President, Commercial Surety from 2011 to 2015. Previously, Zurcher was Vice President and Director, Commercial Surety at Chubb where he was responsible for co-leading the commercial surety operation and portfolio for agents and brokers located throughout the United States and Europe.

Ken Chapman has played a pivotal role in establishing and driving the success of IAT’s Surety business unit, leaving an enduring legacy after a successful 35+ year career in the industry.
